Here is the very basic handout for the Baba Yaga class I am teaching tomorrow at Sunderoak A&S night. I first taught it at the fall AEthelmearc AEcademy in 2004, and it was my first class! It actually grew up and changed quite a bit, in the last twelve years.
Updating the Scenarios!
I am almost up to date with editing and posting my scenarios! Just added the 2011 and 2010 Pennsic show scenarios – A Woman of Great Virtue, and Cloak and Dagger.
Only 2015 scenarios left!
Here are the handouts for the Elizabethan Fairies and the On Foxes and Fairies classes for the Sunderoak A&S night, 2/1/16.
Modern Bylini Performance
I had a lot of fun talking about byliny at Sunderoak! Here are a couple of links of a modern performance of byliny, based on the recordings form 1960s.
Introduction to Russian Heroic Poems
Tomorrow I am teaching a class on Byliny at Sunderoak A&S night. I first taught it in 2006 at Pennsic, and then moved on to other folklore topics (primarily fairy tales). So I had to seriously rework my handout, and redo all my references – I bought EndNote several months ago, and realized how mush more useful I can make by bibliography and citations! I decided I will redo all my handouts (eventually), but here is the first one:
Introduction to Byliny, Russian Heroic Poems.
Creating a Plausible Commedia dell’ Arte Scenario
Today I had the pleasure of teaching a class at Aelthelmearc AEcademy on what it takes to create a plausible period scenario for Commedia dell’Arte. I’ll be posting my handouts soon. The creation of this class was an offshoot of a much bigger project I’m currently working on and hope to have done before the end of the holidays.
